Her husband, Luminite, a unicorn, and her son Lambentine, also a unicorn.
Lum died for his people, Lambentine was sent to the stable.
His mother couldn't come with him because she still had to fight in the war.

She was on her way home from the tour of duty, the bombs fell, there was no home to go to, but spending days in her blown up hometown, she was introduced to a high enough amount of Balefire radiation to ghoulify her.

The only thing she has left was her rifle and the armor she wore, so she took that and wandered the wastes.
